About IDekron

IDekron began in Frankfurt am Main, inspired by a shared love of art, design, distinctive materials and traditional craftsmanship.

Our story started on Instagram in 2020. It was where we shared our first ideas and designs, connected personally with customers and brought bespoke requests to life.

In 2026, the launch of the IDekron online store opened a new chapter. Founded and led by Dr. Farha Naz, IDekron took shape through the ideas and dedication she shares with her husband, Dr. Akram Mohd.

Farha brings together a background in literature, the experience of growing up in an entrepreneurial family and a love of interiors. Her eye for spaces, materials and personal details helps shape the world of IDekron.

Akram combines a scientific mindset with a lifelong enthusiasm for art and music. After completing his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg, his career took him to companies including Sanofi and Formycon. At IDekron, he contributes creative ideas and concepts to the development of our designs.

What began with handcrafted rugs and individual commissions is gradually growing into a wider world of art and design.

IDekron brings contemporary design together with traditional craftsmanship.

Many of our designs draw on architecture, cities, culture, colour and form. Others emerge in conversation with our customers, starting with an existing IDekron design, a sketch, an image, particular dimensions or a personal idea.

Our rugs are made by experienced artisans in India. Depending on the design, they use techniques such as hand-tufting and hand-knotting.

Fine materials, carefully sculpted contours, varied pile heights and hand-finished surfaces give each piece depth, texture and a character of its own.

Behind every IDekron rug lies a wealth of knowledge passed down through generations.

Our manufacturing partner in India has been making handcrafted rugs for three generations, sharing traditional techniques, material expertise and practical skills from one generation to the next.

International trade is also part of the family’s heritage, with years of experience exporting handcrafted rugs, particularly to Europe and North America. The current generation brings around 20 years of personal experience in production and international export.

That expertise informs every stage, from choosing materials and tufting or knotting to sculpting, finishing and the final quality check.

Bespoke rugs have been part of IDekron since our earliest customer enquiries.

Alongside our collections, we explore individual sizes, colourways, distinctive shapes and customers’ own designs, wherever the design and materials allow.

Some commissions begin with an IDekron design. Others start with a sketch, a photograph or simply an idea.

Together, we explore what works aesthetically and how it can be made, agreeing on proportions, materials, colours and details before craftsmanship begins.

The result is a piece conceived for your space, with your way of living in mind.

Our journey began with conversations on Instagram in 2020. Since 2026, our online store has carried that story forward, and new ideas are already taking shape.

We are working to expand the world of IDekron with art and design objects in ceramic, metal, wood, glass and other materials. Each will share the same appreciation for distinctive design, carefully chosen materials and skilled craftsmanship.

Working with experienced artisans and our customers, we want to create pieces that bring personality to a home.
